Loaded from where the items are
Rubbish removal is a labour-and-vehicle service. A Sydney provider arrives with a trailer or truck sized to your load, lifts and loads the rubbish from where it sits, sweeps the pickup area and takes everything to a licensed transfer station. Also called junk removal or waste removal, it covers household rubbish, furniture, mattresses, whitegoods, green waste, office rubbish and full property clean-outs.
Unlike a council kerbside clean-up, a private booking happens on the day you choose and nothing has to be dragged to the kerb. Unlike a skip bin, you do not fill anything yourself and nothing stays on site.
Urgent Pro connects you with verified independent providers across Greater Sydney, from strata apartments in the CBD and Eastern Suburbs to terraces in the Inner West and family homes in the Hills District, Western Sydney and the Sutherland Shire. Your written quote is based on the volume, the waste type, how easy the rubbish is to reach and where it needs to go.
Collected on a rubbish removal job
Not collected, or booked separately
Moving furniture to a new address is a removalist job, not rubbish removal.
The size of the job sets the vehicle, the crew and the time on site, and that is what the price is built on.
One bulky item such as a couch, mattress, fridge or washing machine, picked up without waiting for a council date. This is the small job the $220 minimum rate covers.
A mixed pile of household, garden or office rubbish, quoted on the cubic metres it takes up or how much of a trailer or truck it fills. Most bookings are this kind of job.
A whole house, garage, shed, storage unit or office cleared in one visit, including rubbish left after moving house or at the end of a lease. Larger clean-outs may need a two-person crew or more than one load.
Most household, garden and commercial rubbish can go on one job. Choose a category to see what is commonly collected.

Some items cost more to dispose of and are quoted with a surcharge: mattresses, fridges and air conditioners that need degassing, e-waste sent to an e-waste facility, tyres, and building waste such as timber offcuts, plaster and tiles. List them when you book. For a single old mattress, see ways to dispose of an old mattress.
From your first request to a cleared space, here is what to expect.
Send an item list, a few photos and the access details: stairs, lifts, parking and where the rubbish sits. You get a written, GST-inclusive quote based on volume, waste type and access.
On arrival your provider checks the access route, confirms which items go and which stay, then lifts and loads everything from the agreed pickup point and sweeps the area.
The load goes to a licensed transfer station, with items such as green waste, e-waste or scrap metal routed to the right facility. Payment follows completion, and missed items are covered by the 24-hour warranty.
Verified provider. Written scope. No surprises.
No. This is the main difference from a council kerbside clean-up. Your provider collects from the pickup point in your booking, whether that is the driveway, a garage, a backyard shed, a storage cage or a room upstairs. They do the heavy lifting and the loading.
Sydney has plenty of terraces with narrow hallways and walk-up unit blocks with no lift, and every flight of stairs adds carrying time. Strata buildings in the CBD, Pyrmont and the Eastern Suburbs usually need a lift booking and a loading dock slot.
Carrying items out, stairs and long walks to the vehicle all add time on site, so they are quoted before the job is confirmed rather than added on the day.
| Where the rubbish is | Effect on your quote |
|---|---|
| Pile on the driveway or kerb | Base rate |
| Single-level garage | Base rate |
| Shed or detached structure | Small surcharge for the extra walk |
| Inside the house or unit | Surcharge for carry-out time |
| Up or down stairs | Surcharge per flight |
| More than 20m from the vehicle | Long-carry surcharge |
| Apartment or no truck parking | Variation may apply |
Mention lift bookings, loading dock times, strata rules and street parking when you book so the quote reflects the real access.
Same-day and next-day pickups are often possible in Sydney, subject to provider availability and the size of the job. A single item or a small load is far easier to fit into the day than a whole-house clean-out.
If you need the rubbish gone urgently, for example before a final inspection or a settlement, say so when you request your quote. The quote is still confirmed in writing before anything is loaded.
Same-day collection is never guaranteed. Your provider confirms the earliest realistic time.
Rubbish removal through Urgent Pro starts from $220 including GST. That minimum covers a small job in standard conditions: one large household item or a very small partial trailer load, one provider, standard metro access, up to 45 minutes on site and general waste disposal.
Larger jobs are priced on volume, measured in cubic metres or by how much of a trailer or truck the load fills, then adjusted for the type of waste, its weight, how hard it is to reach and the labour involved. Scope and price are confirmed in a written quote before loading starts.
| Load size | Typical job | Effect on price |
|---|---|---|
| Single item | One couch, mattress or fridge | Minimum rate from $220 |
| Quarter trailer | A few bulky items or a small pile | Slight premium |
| Half trailer | A garage corner or room of clutter | Premium |
| Full trailer | A larger mixed household load | Higher premium |
| Full truck | A big clean-out or several rooms | Substantially higher |
| Several truck loads | A whole-house clear-out | Quoted on the full scope |
All prices are GST-inclusive. Payment is collected by Urgent Pro as authorised agent on behalf of your service provider, and your tax invoice shows your provider’s name and ABN. If there is more rubbish on the day than you declared, your provider stops loading and we contact you before any extra charge applies. Our rules on price changes.
Households in Sydney usually weigh up three options. The right one depends on how soon the rubbish has to go, how much there is, whether there is room for a bin and who does the lifting.
| Rubbish removal service | Skip bin hire | |
|---|---|---|
| Who loads it | Your provider lifts and loads | You fill the bin yourself |
| How long it stays | Gone on the day of the job | On site for the hire period |
| Space needed | Access to the items and room to park | A flat spot, or a council permit if it sits on the street |
| What you pay for | Volume removed, waste type, access and labour | Bin size and hire period, filled or not |
| Best suited to | Bulky items, apartments and clean-outs | Renovations where waste builds up over days |
Which option costs less depends on the load, the access, the waste type and how much lifting is involved. A council kerbside clean-up is the third option, with set rules on what goes out and how much. Our guide to how council clean-ups work in each city explains those rules, and how a skip bin compares on cost compares the other two.
Some materials need a licensed specialist and cannot go on a general rubbish removal job. Everything we can take goes to a licensed facility.
Asbestos needs a licensed asbestos removalist. Unsure about an item? Send a photo when you book and your provider will confirm the right pathway.
General waste goes to a licensed transfer station and is disposed of under New South Wales waste rules.
Some items go to specialist facilities: green waste to green-waste processing, e-waste to an e-waste facility, fridges and air conditioners for degassing, and scrap metal to a metal recycler. If you want recyclables kept separate from the rest of the load, ask at booking, because sorting is quoted as an extra. We do not promise a recycling percentage.
Need proof of disposal for a landlord, property manager or body corporate? Ask for a receipt or photo evidence of disposal when you book.
Most bookings come from households, but the service suits anyone with rubbish too big, too heavy or too much for a wheelie bin. Residential and commercial jobs follow the same process: a written scope, a verified provider and licensed disposal.
In Sydney that includes tenants clearing a rental before the end of lease clean, landlords and strata managers between tenancies, households clearing a garage or storage cage, and offices in the CBD, North Sydney and Parramatta clearing old furniture and equipment.
Rubbish removal is available across Greater Sydney: the CBD, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, North Shore, Northern Beaches, Western Sydney, the Hills District, South Sydney and the Sutherland Shire. Local providers collect from homes, apartments and businesses from Bondi, Coogee and Randwick to Chatswood, Mosman, Manly, Parramatta, Castle Hill and Cronulla.
Inner West terraces can mean narrow hallways and no off-street parking, and apartment buildings often have set loading windows. Share those details when you book so the vehicle and crew arrive ready to load.

Your rubbish is collected by an independent local operator, not by Urgent Pro. Before any provider is activated on our platform, we verify:

Your provider operates their own business and carries their own insurance. Urgent Pro acts as their booking agent only.
Your Booking Confirmation will include your provider’s name and ABN.
Mark anything you are keeping before loading starts. Your provider confirms the list with you on arrival, because once rubbish reaches the transfer station it cannot be recovered.
Rubbish removal is often one part of a bigger move. If you are leaving a rental, clearing the property first means your end of lease clean in Sydney can be done on an empty home, with nothing left behind for the final inspection. Our guide to what to clear before the final inspection sets out what to remove and when.
Relocating? Book house removalists in Sydney the same week so only what you are keeping goes on the truck. For how the service works elsewhere, visit the rubbish removal page for every city.
Rubbish removal starts from $220 including GST for a small job, such as one bulky item or a very small partial trailer load with easy access. Larger loads, mattresses, whitegoods, e-waste, stairs, long carries and a two-person crew increase the price. You receive a written quote before any loading starts.
Volume is the main factor, measured in cubic metres or by how much of a trailer or truck the load fills. The quote is then adjusted for the waste type, heavy materials, access, stairs and labour. Photos of every pile give the most accurate quote.
Yes. A single-item pickup is the smallest rubbish removal job and is charged at the minimum rate. Mattresses and fridges can carry a disposal surcharge because the receiving facility charges more to take them.
No. Your provider collects from the pickup point in your booking, including inside the house, the garage, a shed or a storage cage, and does the lifting and loading. Carry-out time and stairs are included in your quote.
Council kerbside clean-ups run on your council’s booking system, with limits on which items go out and how much, and everything has to be placed at the kerb. A private rubbish removal booking happens on a day you choose, your provider collects from inside the property, and items your council excludes can often be taken. Check your own council’s rules if you want to compare.
Yes. Stair carries from terraces, walk-up units and multi-level homes are common in Sydney and quoted per flight, and heavy items such as fridges may need a two-person crew. For strata buildings, tell us about lift bookings, loading dock times, parking and strata rules when you book. Restricted truck access can change the quote, so it is confirmed in writing first.
Yes. Fridges, freezers, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers and ovens are collected. Fridges, freezers and air conditioners carry a surcharge because the refrigerant has to be removed before disposal.
Yes. Branches, prunings, hedge and lawn clippings, leaves and general garden clean-up waste are collected. Green waste often costs less to dispose of than general rubbish because it can go to a green-waste facility.
Yes, for typical household renovation waste such as timber offcuts, plasterboard, tiles, old flooring and cabinetry. Building waste costs more to dispose of, so it is quoted with a surcharge. Declare bricks, concrete or other heavy materials at booking so your provider can confirm the load. Anything that may contain asbestos cannot be collected.
Often, yes, subject to provider availability and the size of the job. Smaller loads are easier to fit in at short notice than whole-house clean-outs. Request your quote early in the day and include photos and access details for the best chance of a same-day pickup in Sydney.
It depends on the job. Rubbish removal includes the lifting and clears everything on the day, which suits bulky items, apartments and clean-outs. A skip bin suits renovations where waste builds up over several days and you are happy to load it yourself. Which costs less depends on the load, the access and the waste type.
Asbestos or anything suspected to contain it, paint, solvents, chemicals, gas bottles, fuels, batteries beyond household quantities, sharps, medical waste, ammunition and explosives. These need a licensed specialist or a council drop-off point.
General waste goes to a licensed transfer station. Green waste, e-waste, fridges and scrap metal are taken to the facilities that handle them, and separating recyclables from the rest of the load can be added at booking. You can ask for a receipt or photo evidence of disposal. For electronics, read how e-waste rules differ between states.
Yes. Offices, shops and warehouses book rubbish removal for old furniture, office equipment, obsolete stock, packaging waste and full clean-outs. The process is the same as a household booking: a written quote, a verified provider and licensed disposal, with a tax invoice showing the provider’s name and ABN.
