How This Document Relates to the Privacy Policy

This Cookie Policy is the standalone customer-facing statement of how URGENT Pro uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Platform at urgentpro.com.au. It is a companion to, and reads consistently with, the Privacy & Data Handling Policy.

Where the Privacy Policy sets the broader privacy framework (what personal information we collect, why, how we hold it, your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles), this Cookie Policy isolates the cookies-and-tracking detail into a single, dedicated document so visitors can review and manage cookie preferences without scrolling through the full Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy §11 ("Cookies and Tracking Technologies") and this document say the same thing. Where there is ever any difference, this Cookie Policy is the operative statement for cookies; the Privacy Policy governs every other aspect of personal information handling.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and provide a better experience.

Similar tracking technologies covered by this policy include:

  • Pixels and tags — small image files or scripts that track page views and user actions for analytics and advertising
  • Local storage and session storage — browser-side data stores that hold preferences or session information
  • Software development kits (SDKs) — code modules embedded in the Platform that may collect device and usage information
  • Device identifiers — anonymous identifiers used by analytics and advertising services to recognise a returning device

Throughout this policy, the word "cookies" refers to all of these technologies unless we say otherwise.

2. Why We Use Cookies

We use cookies to:

  • Keep the Platform working — for example, keeping you logged in as you move between pages, holding items in your quote request, and securing your session against tampering
  • Remember your preferences — for example, your city selection, language, or display preferences
  • Understand how the Platform is used — which pages are visited, which features are used, where users encounter friction, and how to improve the service
  • Measure the effectiveness of our marketing — for example, whether a Google or Meta advertisement led to a booking, so we can spend our marketing budget on channels that actually help customers find us
  • Deliver relevant advertising on third-party platforms (where you have consented)

We do not sell your personal information. We do not allow third parties to use cookies on our Platform to track you across unrelated websites for the purpose of building a behavioural profile that is sold to other businesses.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Cookie TypePurposeDuration
Essential CookiesRequired for the Platform to function (e.g., login, session security, cart/quote state, fraud prevention, load balancing)Session or persistent (typically up to 12 months)
Functional CookiesRemember your preferences and settings (e.g., city selection, display preferences)Up to 12 months
Analytics CookiesUnderstand how you use our Platform (e.g., Google Analytics, page-view and event tracking)Up to 26 months
Marketing CookiesDeliver relevant advertisements (with your consent) on third-party platforms such as Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and similar advertising networksUp to 12 months

Essential cookies cannot be switched off in our systems — they are required for the Platform to work. Without them, you cannot log in, request a quote, or complete a booking. We rely on essential cookies for legitimate interests under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and do not seek explicit consent for them, but we tell you about them here.

Functional, analytics, and marketing cookies are switched on only with your consent through our cookie consent banner, or by your continued use of the Platform where the law permits an implied-consent approach. You can withdraw consent at any time using the controls described in Section 6.

4. Third-Party Cookies

We may use third-party services that place their own cookies on your device. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies governing their use of those cookies. Common third parties we use include:

  • Google Analytics 4 — measurement and traffic analytics. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google Ads / Google Tag Manager — advertising attribution and tag management
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook / Instagram) — advertising measurement and audience building. Meta's privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php
  • Microsoft Clarity (or similar session-replay analytics, where used) — page-interaction analytics
  • HighLevel (GoHighLevel / LeadConnector) — marketing automation, quote-form delivery, and customer relationship management. HighLevel's privacy policy: https://www.gohighlevel.com/privacy-policy
  • Cloud hosting and content delivery providers — for performance, security, and abuse prevention

The list above is illustrative and may change as our service providers change. We take reasonable steps to ensure each third party complies with the Australian Privacy Principles, or is subject to a privacy regime that provides substantially similar protection.

Where a third party is located overseas, the cross-border disclosure framework in the Privacy & Data Handling Policy §6 applies.

5. Do Not Track Signals

Our Platform does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because there is no industry-wide consensus on how to interpret them. You can manage tracking through the cookie controls described in Section 6.

If, in future, a recognised standard for Do Not Track is adopted in Australia or by major browser vendors, we will update our Platform to honour it and will revise this Section accordingly.

6. Managing Cookies

You have several ways to manage cookies.

6.1 Through our cookie banner

When you first visit the Platform, you can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customise your preferences by category (functional, analytics, marketing). Your selection is stored in a preference cookie and applied to your subsequent visits.

You can change your selection at any time by clearing your browser's cookies for urgentpro.com.au, which will cause the banner to reappear, or by using the cookie preferences link in the website footer (where available).

6.2 Through your browser

Most browsers allow you to:

  • View what cookies are stored on your device
  • Delete some or all cookies
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Block all cookies (note: blocking all cookies will prevent essential Platform functions from working — you will not be able to log in, request a quote, or complete a booking)
  • Set the browser to notify you when a cookie is being placed

Browser-specific instructions are typically found in the browser's Settings → Privacy section. Major browsers maintained by Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Mozilla all provide clear cookie management interfaces.

6.3 Through third-party opt-out tools

For analytics and advertising cookies specifically, you can also opt out at the source:

  • Google Analytics opt-out — install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
  • Google Ads personalisation — manage at https://adssettings.google.com
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad preferences — manage in your account settings on the relevant platform
  • Your Online Choices Australia — industry self-regulatory opt-out for interest-based advertising at https://www.youronlinechoices.com.au

Disabling specific third-party services through their own controls is independent of our cookie banner and will be honoured even if you have not made a selection through our banner.

6.4 The trade-off

Blocking or deleting cookies affects how the Platform works for you. In particular:

  • Blocking essential cookies prevents login, quote requests, and bookings
  • Blocking functional cookies means your preferences (city, display settings) will not persist between visits
  • Blocking analytics cookies does not change what you see, but reduces our ability to improve the service based on aggregated usage data
  • Blocking marketing cookies means you may still see advertising, but it will not be tailored to your interests, and we will not be able to measure whether you reached the Platform through one of our marketing campaigns

You can change any of these decisions at any time without penalty.

7. Children and Cookies

The Platform is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly use cookies to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has interacted with the Platform and cookies have collected information about them, please contact us using the details in Section 10 and we will take reasonable steps to delete the information.

8. Changes to Cookies on the Platform

The cookies in use on the Platform may change over time as we add or remove services, change marketing partners, or upgrade analytics tools. We maintain this Cookie Policy as our authoritative statement of which categories of cookies are in use. The specific list of third-party providers in Section 4 is illustrative and may change without a corresponding update to this document, provided the broad framework remains the same.

Where we add a new category of cookie not covered by this policy — for example, a fundamentally new tracking technology — we will update this policy and, where required, refresh consent through the cookie banner.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our cookie practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons.

When we make material changes to this Policy, we will:

  • Post the updated Policy on our Platform with a new "Last Updated" date
  • Where appropriate, refresh consent through the cookie banner so you can review the changes before continuing to use the Platform
  • For significant changes, notify registered account holders by email

Your continued use of the Platform after we publish an updated Policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms, subject to your right to withdraw cookie consent through the controls in Section 6.
