How do I start a cleaning business in Australia with no customers? +
The hardest part of starting any home services business in Australia is getting your first customers. Urgent Pro does not work this way. Blue Badge providers receive confirmed booked jobs — the customer is already committed and the job is yours. A cleaning franchise typically requires a significant upfront investment ($15,000–$80,000), ongoing royalty payments of 15–35% of your revenue, plus fixed weekly or monthly platform and marketing fees — whether you work or not. With Urgent Pro, there are no franchise fees, no territory lock-in, and no fixed ongoing charges. You operate as an independent contractor running your own business. You only pay when you earn — if you don't work, you don't pay anything.
How much can I earn as a cleaning or removals provider with Urgent Pro? +
Your earnings depend entirely on how many jobs you accept and complete. The more you work, the more you earn — there is no cap. Bond and end-of-lease cleaning providers working a full week typically earn around $1,250 per week based on 3–4 jobs. Removalists working consistently can earn around $1,500 per week. Earnings vary by service category, city, and how many jobs you take. There are no fixed fees and nothing to pay when you're not working.
Can I work for other clients while working with Urgent Pro? +
Yes. You are an independent contractor running your own business. There is no exclusivity requirement. You are free to provide services to other clients, through other platforms, or directly to your own customers. Urgent Pro does not restrict who else you work for.
Do I need experience to start a home services business with Urgent Pro? +
You must be able to demonstrate the capability to carry out competitive, quality work in your declared service category. During the mandatory 1-day induction, our Area Manager will assess your capability. If additional training is required, we'll discuss this with you directly — the duration depends on your assessment outcome. You do not need years of experience, but you do need to meet our professional standards before going live.
Which Australian cities does Urgent Pro operate in? +
Urgent Pro currently operates across five major Australian cities and their surrounding regions — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Perth. We are expanding to additional cities. If your city isn't listed, submit an EOI and we'll add you to the waitlist for your area.
Is the training mandatory and do I have to pay for it? +
The 1-day induction with an Area Manager is mandatory for all providers and is part of the activation process. During the induction, we also assess your capability. If our assessment identifies a gap, additional training may be required before you can go live — the duration depends on the assessment outcome and training fees apply where additional training is needed. The induction does not create an employment relationship. You remain an independent contractor throughout.
What happens if I don't have public liability insurance yet? +
You can still submit an expression of interest, and we'll follow up with guidance on getting covered. However, you cannot be activated as a provider without a current Certificate of Currency for public liability insurance. Blue Badge requires minimum $10M per occurrence, Orange Badge requires minimum $20M. There are many affordable options for sole trader public liability insurance in Australia — your Area Manager can point you in the right direction.
