Stairs, Lifts, Parking and Long Carries
Access at both ends of the move changes how long it takes, and sometimes how many movers and what equipment are needed. A ground-level home with the truck parked at the front door is the quickest move there is. Every flight of stairs, every lift trip and every metre between the truck and the door adds time.
Sydney adds a few of its own. Inner West and Eastern Suburbs terraces often have narrow hallways, tight stair turns and no off-street parking, walk-up unit blocks have no lift at all, and strata buildings in the CBD and North Sydney usually need a lift booking and a loading dock slot through the building manager.

Insurance and Damage Protection

Public Liability Insurance
Every provider holds at least $10 million public liability cover, verified before activation. It covers damage to property, such as walls, floors or a building’s lift, rather than the goods being moved.
Goods-in-Transit Cover
Cover for your belongings while they are on the truck is the provider’s own goods-in-transit policy, and limits vary between providers. Ask for the policy details before moving day, and extra cover can be priced through their insurer.
Damage Warranty
Note visible damage on the inventory at delivery and report it within 48 hours. Hidden damage found while unpacking can be reported within 7 days of delivery.
