Outside WA, a vacate clean is for a whole-property move-out where no bond is at risk, such as pre-sale prep, an owner-occupied handover or a landlord’s between-tenant reset. In WA, a vacate clean is the rental-exit clean for a tenancy. An end of lease clean is the rental-exit service in NSW, VIC, or WA built around the state’s tenancy inspection checklist, with a 14-day re-clean window covering the agent’s exit report. Bond cleaning is the QLD equivalent. If your bond is at risk, choose bond cleaning in QLD, end of lease cleaning in NSW or VIC, or a vacate clean in WA.
A 2-bedroom 1-bathroom unit typically takes 4 to 6 hours. A 4-bedroom 2-bathroom house takes 6 to 8 hours. The variable is condition, not size. A property left in maintained condition cleans much faster than a property that hasn’t been deep-cleaned in months. The written quote includes an estimated duration based on the scope and condition declared at booking.
Ideally yes, vacate cleaning is most efficient on a fully empty property. Cleaners don’t move heavy items (anything over 5kg is typically left in place) and the booking is priced for whole-property access. If the property is part-furnished, declare that at quote stage so the price reflects the reduced access. Belongings still in the property at clean time may delay the visit or trigger a variation.
Carpet steam cleaning is a separate service category with its own scope, equipment, and warranty period. It can be booked alongside the vacate clean and coordinated on the same day where possible, many customers do this because carpet steam cleaning is often required by leases (especially in QLD and VIC where pets were on the property) or expected by buyers at pre-sale. The carpet clean is quoted as its own line item.
Outdoor areas are not part of the standard vacate scope. Balconies, courtyards, garage interiors, decks, and outdoor entertaining can be added as quoted variations at booking. External windows at height, gutters, lawn, and pool surrounds are outside vacate cleaning entirely. They’re licensed or specialist services. If you need any of these, flag them at quote stage so they’re priced in.
Yes, vacate cleaning is most often booked the day the property is fully empty, immediately after the removalist has finished. Tell us your move-out time at quote stage and the cleaner is scheduled to start once the removalist is gone. Same-day coordination is the default for vacate cleans in all five cities. If you also need house removalists, both can be booked through the same platform.
Book at least one week ahead for confidence, vacate cleaning demand peaks around end-of-month settlement dates and lease turnover. Same-day and next-day bookings are possible in all five cities, but availability tightens in late-month windows. Booking earlier locks the cleaner, the time slot, and the price, and gives a buffer if anything in the move shifts.
